'Cost Of Treatment Creates Fear In Majority Of Indians', Says Oncologist Dr Ravi Kannan

On Banega Swasth India Season 9 finale, Dr Kannan highlighted the issue of affordability of healthcare services and how that makes accessibility an issue for the majority of the populace. He said that the cost of treatment creates fear in the majority of Indians. Then there are economic realities like cancer treatment in India spans many days, posing challenges for daily wagers, so a pro-poor strategy is important for health treatments. Dr Kannan emphasised that robust support system during treatment is as crucial as affordable costs.
