A dramatic rescue operation was carried out by the fire brigade team in Gujarat's Sabarkantha to save a couple whose car was swept away by floodwaters in the Karol River. Suresh Mistri and his wife Naina were returning to Idar from Vadivir village when their car was trapped in a flood. The strong currents carried the vehicle 1.5 kilometres away before it was stopped by a rock. The couple managed to escape and climb onto the car's roof, from where they were rescued by the fire brigade team using a rope.
