"The court is rightfully concerned. On one hand, statutory bodies like the CBI have a broad-based selection process. Election Commission is a constitutional body. Meaning it is higher than the CBI....There has been a tendency that this independence and autonomy has been undermined," said Abhishek Manu Singhvi, lawyer and senior Congress leader.
