An acute shortage of beds while patients wait outside hospitals in ambulances and vehicles -- India is facing its worst health emergency amid the pandemic as COVID-19 cases surge. At Delhi's Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, long queues of patients on stretchers could be seen, waiting for hospital beds, while many were being given oxygen outside the hospital itself.
