Punjab Asks Centre To Increase Oxygen Allocation
The oxygen emergency in Punjab amid the pandemic is seeing a fast escalation. The rising Covid cases is pushing up the need for oxygen by 60 tonnes in the first eight days of this month. The Air Force has indicated that transport of empty oxygen tankers by air might be affected on May 11 and 12 due to bad weather forecast. Punjab has been consistently struggling to lift its entire quota of oxygen allocated by the centre due to logistical constraints.
