Many States Not Ready For May 1 Vaccine Rollout, Other Top Stories
Even with the vaccination drive set to open to all above 18 from tomorrow, many states are uncertain about the availability of enough vaccine doses. States like Maharashtra and Delhi say they don't have enough doses. The Mumbai civic body has cited vaccine shortage and said it is stopping vaccination for three days, starting today. COVID-19 has infected over 3.86 lakh more people in India in yet another worrying daily high and killed 3,498 the last 24 hours. Deaths have doubled in the last two weeks, up by 200 per cent 3. The positivity rate has crossed 20 per cent. The tourist hotspot of North Goa has a positivity rate of over 50 per cent. Almost one third of India's districts have more than 10 per cent positivity rate.
