Historians and scientists have joined the growing number of eminent Indians who are raising their voice against what's being called a culture of growing intolerance in the country. Today a group of historians signed a petition against growing intolerance, and scientist PM Bhargava accused the BJP and the RSS of telling citizens what to eat, what to think and how to dress, saying he rejects such constraints on his freedom and the least he could do was return the Padma Bhushan awarded to him in 1986 under the Rajiv Gandhi government. A defensive BJP has reacted accusing these prominent citizens of India of manufacturing dissent.
