Cross-Voting In Presidential Elections: Alarm Bells For The Opposition?

The cross-voting in the presidential elections may not have dramatically affected the elections, but it has definitely sent a message to the opposition.  An analysis of state-wise data shows that cross-voting happened in favour of Droupadi Murmu. So, the big question is: where does this leave the idea of opposition unity?
