India Considered Air Strikes in Pakistan Post 26/11?
"This is my advice to Prime Minister Narendra Modi - first don't even announce you are going to have a backchannel, but have a backchannel," former Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri said in an interview to NDTV. Underscoring the effectiveness of a backchannel, he spoke of how India and Pakistan had resolved the Kashmir issue in the backchannel talks and how Pakistan agreed on troop withdrawal from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir in the interest of "bigger stakes". Mr Kasuri also said that after 26/11, US senator John McCain had discussed limited airstrikes by India on Lashkar headquarters in Muridke thinking it would avert a full war between India and Pakistan.
