Dalit Groom Rides Horse Under Police Protection In Rajasthan

A large police force oversaw the wedding of a Dalit groom in Lavera village in Rajasthan's Ajmer district. The groom Vijay Raigar rode a horse as his wedding procession made its way through narrow village roads - a first in many years for the region. The Dalit family had requested police protection, fearing objections from dominant castes to the groom riding a horse.
