Day 2 of the Poonch encounter
In an encounter in Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir that began 36 hours ago, two Army jawans and one policeman were shot dead by militants on Saturday morning. In the gun battle that followed, four militants were killed. A defence spokesman said the troopers cordoned off the Pati Tar area in Poonch on Thursday evening and launched searches.
