Varanasi is regarded as one of the holiest cities of India. People set their dead kin to the pyres along the Manikarnika Ghat, one of Varanasi's oldest and most sacred ghats. Bodies are washed in the Ganga River, which is revered by Hindus across the nation, after which they are carried to the burning platform. The city also attracts a lot of tourists for its Ganga Aarti which is a dramatic sight. This historical and culture significance of the city is reason enough to preserve this iconic site. Our Swachh Agenda, in partnership with the government's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, is to improve the solid and liquid waste management in the city.
