When Deepika Padukone went public in 2015 about her struggles with depression, the aim was to raise awareness that mental health issues could be treated - and should never be a matter of shame. Deepika continues to fight the stigma through her Live, Love, Laugh Foundation which works in the field of mental health. Her Foundation is funding the efforts of the Association for People with Disability in Davanagere district of north Karnataka. Deepika visited villages in Jagalur Taluk of the district where a quiet revolution is going on. Treatment for mental health issues is coming right to the doorstep of those who need it as part of a public-private partnership.
