Amid India's Covid cases surge, grim scenes from hospitals running out of oxygen supply and crematoriums struggling to keep up have caused concerns. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray tried and was unable to speak to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the lack of oxygen cylinders for critically ill Covid patients in his state. Trinamool MP Derek O'Brien tells NDTV: "I have used strong words for PM and Amit Shah, today I have run out of strong words. I am deeply saddened that people of Maharashtra have been penalised, I am not angry but deeply, deeply saddened".
