Delhi will become the first airport in the country to implement full-body scanners. The civil aviation authorities announced that Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) will utilize full-body scanners for passenger checks by May 2024. Additionally, CTX (Computed Tomography X-ray) machines, which eliminate the need for passengers to remove electronic items and liquids from their hand baggage during security checks, are also likely to be installed by May next year. Other major airports, such as those in Greater Noida and Navi Mumbai, will have these scanners operational from the first day of their operations, which are expected to begin sometime in the coming year.
