Today, it has been 5 days since the worst-ever Delhi floods hit parts of the national capital city. Iconic and key locations in Delhi such as the Rajghat, ITO, Civil Lines, the Supreme Court Road, ISBT were inundated for days. While this disrupted normal life for many citizens in Delhi, thousands lost what they had built all their lives. All this happened because the Yamuna river reached a record high level, flowing at 208.66M. This is 3 meters above the danger level and it surpassed the previous record of the 1978 floods. The Yamuna river's water level rapidly increased as lakhs of cusecs of water was being released from Haryana. But as the blame game continues, citizens suffer.
