Uttar Pradesh doctor Kafeel Khan, who was released from jail after an order by the Allahabad High Court, has said for now his focus is on joining the fight against the coronavirus crisis. Mr Khan had been arrested under the stringent National Security Act over a speech he gave on the Citizenship (Amendment) Act or CAA. He alleged he was tortured and not given food for five days when he was under arrest. "I never spoke about anything bad in my speech," Mr Khan said. "I am not against the CAA. But it was the 'chronology' comment by the Home Minister that I oppose. India's democracy is in danger," he said. "Right now there is a bigger problem faced by India, and that is coronavirus. I want to help citizens as a professional, as a doctor and work as a corona warrior," Mr Khan said.
