The Dengue outbreak this season in West Bengal seems higher than other years with the state registering more than 76,000 cases of dengue this year till October 24, according to state officials. This is significantly more than last year when the state recorded 67,271 cases, the highest in the country. The state has recorded a spike during the festive season and that has also contributed to the higher numbers this year. State officials say the seasonal spike has been higher this year, but the numbers are beginning to show a downward trend.
