Deshmukh's resignation accepted
Vilasrao Deshmukh has finally stepped down as Maharashtra Chief Minister and has sent his resignation to Governor S C Jamir. "I have accepted moral responsibility for Mumbai terror attacks; in a democracy one has to honour people's anguish and anger," said Deshmukh. Five days after the Maharshtra Chief Minister offered to quit at the Congress Working Committee, the party finally accepted his resignation on Wednesday.
