How often do we see governments, meant to uphold the rule of law, give in to rule of mob. The latest: the Rajasthan government which has decided to ban the screening of the film Padmavat, in the state. This despite the film - and the filmmakers - having to literally grovel in multiple forums - putting out videos to claim the film is not anti-Rajput, appear before a parliamentary panel and eventually even getting clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification. Statement by the chief minister said that sentiments of people have to be respected and Rani Padmini is pride of Rajasthan not just a history chapter. Tonight on Reality check, we discuss has Chief Minister Raje succumbed to the fringe?
