An unprecedented drought requires an unprecedented response. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis along with his entire cabinet of 28 ministers visited the state’s worst-hit Marathwada region to take stock of the situation. When asked about what his assessment of the situation was, Mr Fadnavis said, “We are looking at both long term and short term solutions and wherever we have announced will help farmers tide over the immediate crisis and ensure that help reaches each and every affected farmer.”
