Despite being called the 'man's best friend', dogs find themselves abandoned in their later years. Once senile or disabled, these canines are left on the streets to die. Hundreds of such dogs have found their 'forever home' at an 'ashram' in Rajkot. Old age homes for the elders are commonly heard of, but an 'ashram' for dogs is a novel concept. First of its kind, Sadbhawna Dog Ashram shelters over a hundred free-ranging dogs. The 'ashram' provides a permanent shelter to disabled dogs.
