Displaced Gazans Delighted As They Return Home After Major Truce Deal: "Indescribable Feeling..."

Celebrations unfolded in Gaza, after the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas took a positive turn on January 25, 2025. 200 Palestinians were freed in the truce deal with Israel, that led to the release of 7 Israeli hostages in two sets. Tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians were seen carrying their belongings on Jan 27, as they made their way along the seafront of Wadi Gaza. The Israel-displaced Gazans express joy as they are all set to return to their homeland, after being in captivity for over a year. Notably, Israel opened roadblocks after the militant group Hamas agreed to hand over female Israeli hostage Arbel Yehud and two other hostages. The move brokered by Qatar and Egyptian mediators would allow around 650,000 Palestinians in central and southern Gaza Strip to return to their homes.
