Senior Congress leader and former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram said that the list of disqualified MPs, MLAs that Piyush Goyal was touting, comprised of those who had been convicted for heinous crimes and not one elected representative on that list was convicted for slander or defamation. He also emphasised that the haste with which Rahul Gandhi was disqualified upon being convicted was unprecedented.
