Divine union: Madurai celebrates wedding of the Gods
As Tamil Nadu waits to find out who will be its next chief minister at least some people have already begun celebrating not for their demigod politicians but for their gods themselves. As the heat of the political season settles for a brief instant the temple town of Madurai comes alive to the annual wedding of its patron deity, Goddess Meenakshi to Lord Shiva or Sundareswarar as he's known here.
