Congress leader DK Shivakumar met interim party president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi on Thursday, a day after he was released from Tihar jail after being granted bail by the Delhi High Court in a money laundering case. "It was not a political meeting. I met Sonia Gandhi to thank her for coming all the way to Tihar jail to meet me," he said, appealing to his party colleagues to remain loyal to its ideology even in trying times.
