Do bandhs make sense in today's politics?
The first day of the Bharat bandh called by various trade unions had a mixed impact across India. Hardest hit were offices and local transport, however, air and rail travel was largely unaffected. In major cities, it was business as usual. So, we debate: are bandhs now a social evil or the voice of democracy?
