Doctors, Students, Netas On Kolkata Rape-Murder
On the Big Fight, NDTV's Marya Shakil spoke to a diverse group of panellists on the Kolkata rape and murder horror. Senior journalist Jayanta Ghosal said that the "priority is the punishment of the rapist". Doctor Sayan Paul said the situation remains the same as it was 25 years ago. Dr Paul Admitted that the "government hospitals don't have adequate infrastructure for junior doctors and residents". Renowned journalist Shikha Mukherjee questioned if this was really a random incident. Trinamool Congress spokesperson Krishanu Mitra while defending his party said, "The fake news factory portrayed that the Kolkata cops did not register any case". BJP Spokesperson Dr Shatorupa said, "People want Mamata Banerjee to resign". Women activist Saira Shah Halim said, "It's time that the government steps down".
