It's perhaps the most visible kind of labour in urban India, one that an estimated 20 million people are involved in. And the work they do is central to our lives. It is the silent army of domestic workers. They come in hundreds and thousands to our cities every year, looking for work in our homes. Work they get, but at what cost?
