"Don't become a farmer" - these were the last words of a farmer for his son shortly before he killed himself last month in the Rayavaram village of Medak district in Telangana. Three weeks ago, he came to school to meet seven-year-old Vamshi for the last time. He took him to a tea stall next door, bought him a bun and tea, gave him five rupees, told him to study well and insisted that he should never become a farmer. Half an hour later, he hanged himself and died.
