Don't Forget Mother Tongue: Tamil Nadu Minister Amid Education Policy Row

The New Education Policy (NEP) and its three-language formula is turning into a flash point between the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu and the Centre. The Centre slashed school education funds, which the DMK called Hindi imposition. Calling the state's two language formula non-negotiable, Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi told NDTV's Sam Daniel that Hindi erases native languages and appealed to states to learn English and to not forget their mother tongue.
