Dropping deposit rates may lead to further easing in lending rates: IDBI Bank

R K Bansal, ED, IDBI Bank expects to see a drop in deposit rates in the coming days and hopes that will lead to a further easing in lending rates. However. unlike other banks, IDBI bank says it does not have a surplus flow of deposits and hence is not looking at deposit rate cuts immediately. IDBI adds that recent measures on power sector have been positive and that the bank will look at increased lendign to the real estate sector.
