Dunlop suspends work, workers protest in WB
Agitated workers of Dunlop India in West Bengal gathered at the gate of the factory on Tuesday, demanding clarity about the management's decision to suspend work indefinitely. On Monday, the management announced suspension of work citing the global economic meltdown, a lack of demand and funds crunch. The management also offered to pay its 1200 workers an allowance of Rs 2000 per month for the rest of the financial year.
