In an exclusive interview with NDTV's Amitoj Singh at the SRCC Festival, former finance minister Yashwant Sinha and CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury speak about the best way forward for India. The leaders discuss the role of GST and demonetisation in India's economic future. Yashwant Sinha says the notes ban was a resounding failure and further elaborates that the design and implementation of GST has been botched up by the BJP. Mr Yechury also says the livelihood of Indians has fallen sharply and that the government is not revealing the "complete truth". Furthermore, when questioned who was going to be the next Prime Minister, Mr Sinha claims he was the best candidate to set the economy on course for the next five years. While it was said in jest, was he throwing his hat in the ring?
