Eight Long Years After Being Raped, Child Victim Gets Compensation
It has been a long fight for justice for a girl in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu who in 2013 was raped by her own relative. While the court pronounced the accused guilty, no compensation was provided to the victim, who was then a minor. After the Kailash Satyarthi Children's foundation's sister organisation Bachpan Bachao Andolan intervened in the matter, there was some sigh of relief for the both the child and her mother.
