An elderly woman died this morning as a stampede broke out at a post office in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, where several retired people had gathered to get themselves registered for pension. The pension amount had been hiked from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1,000 after the election and people over 60 had come to the camp to register themselves again for enhanced pension.
