Election Results: Has BJP Delinked Government Performance From Poll Performance?

As votes were counted in Haryana on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP established an early lead. The BJP, which is in power in the state - hopes to reinforce its national election victory with wins in Haryana and Maharashtra. Yogendra Yadav of Swaraj India said there have been three key "delinkings" that the BJP has done. The first one, he said, is delinking the state government's performance from the state election. The second, according to him, is the delinking of the government's performance from the state election. "The third is the larger delinking of the economy from politics," Mr Yadav said.
