X Outage | Elon Musk is blaming a powerful cyberattack for the major outage faced by social media platform X. On Monday, thousands of users reported being unable to access the platform for hours. Musk said the attack involved “a lot of resources,” suggesting a large group or even a state actor could be behind it. However, cybersecurity experts are sceptical, noting similar denial-of-service attacks can often be carried out by smaller groups. Down detector reported over 39,000 users were affected at the peak of the outage. By evening, the number dropped to around 1,500. In another development, The Trump administration has launched a new app aimed at encouraging undocumented immigrants to voluntarily leave the U.S. The app, called CBP Home, allows migrants to signal their intent to “self-deport” potentially avoiding detention and future legal consequences. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said those who use the app may have a chance to return legally in the future. Watch The World Report for the latest updates.
