The Congress-JD(S) coalition government in Karnataka appears to be on the brink of collapse with 11 lawmakers resigning on Saturday, while Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is away in the US. One rebel JDS legislator has even claimed that 14 lawmakers have resigned. The Congress and JDS together have 116 in the 224-member state assembly where 113 is the majority mark.
