Enough room for new banks: Bajaj Finserv

With the passage of the banking bill, the foundation has been laid for the setting up of new banks, says Sanjiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Finserv. He adds that enough room remains in the Indian economy for new banks, especially if banks move beyond the over-banked urban areas. Mr. Bajaj also comments on the economy, saying he expects conditions to remain tough over the next few quarters, adding that sentiments may improve if the government continues to take steps.
