Ensure safety of students from North-East: PM to Karnataka govt
The Prime Minister and Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde have phoned the Chief Minister of Karnataka, asking him to ensure the safety of thousands of students from the north east. Jagadish Shettar, who heads the government, has said students are not at risk. Two special trains were organised to Assam tonight from Bangalore, though officials caution that the rush is partly due to the long weekend coming up for Eid.
