Ex-Miss India Begs Cops To Help Uber Driver Assaulted By Mob; Police Say "No Jurisdiction"

The ordeal of a former Miss India in Kolkata last night has ended in the arrest of 7 young men who dashed into her Uber cab, attacked the driver and abused the 30-year-old model. The mob also allegedly tried to grab her bag and her phone on which she had a video of the assault. Ushoshi Sengupta also painted a grim picture of the police in the city, some of whom refused to help her or the Uber driver saying the incident was not in their jurisdiction and that she would have to go to another police station to file her complaint.
