The NTA has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court opposing the cancellation of the NEET UG exam. The next hearing is slated for July 8, with the Chief Justice of India set to hear a consolidated plea related to the NEET case. In the affidavit, the NTA stated that the CBI is investigating the matter following complaints of paper leaks in many states. The agency also mentioned that several arrests have been made in connection with the NEET paper leak cases. The NTA claimed that the alleged malpractices were limited to the Patna and Godhra centres and that the entire exam should not be cancelled based on these isolated instances. The NTA refuted allegations that students scoring high marks were only from certain centres. The affidavit revealed that the NTA has withheld the results of students involved in malpractices and issued show-cause notices to them for penal action and debarment.
