In a major announcement, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said that they are opening up to allow the involvement of private players. Indian private players can also provide launch services. These are exciting times for ISRO -- with a manned Indian space mission also in the works and a new Chandrayaan mission as well. ISRO's Chairman Dr Sivan speaks to NDTV on the big change and says opening ISRO up commercially will help them scale up. He also said private sector will now be allowed to build rockets.
