A unique exhibition showcasing rare paintings, maps and the first ever photographs taken in the Jaipur court is on display at the city palace museum. The photographs date back to sawai Ram Singh's time (1835-80) and are a fascinating portrait of women from his royal court, they give a glimpse into the life behind the purdah. They are perhaps the first ever photographs of residents of the royal Zenanna that question stereotypes about women living in purdah.
