76% voter turnout was registered in the Udupi- Chikmagalur Lok Sabha Constituency of Karnataka which went to polls in the second phase on Friday. People were seen standing in queues awaiting their turn to vote in the Chikkamagaluru district, which is called the coffee land of India. Located on the foothills of the Mullayanagiri peak of the Western Ghats, the area attracts tourists from around the world for its pleasant and favourable climate, tropical rainforest and coffee estates. Many people in the area are dependent on the coffee industry for their livelihood.
