Dr VK Paul, member of NITI Aayog and chairperson of the National Expert Committee on Vaccine Administration was among the first few at Delhi's AIIMS who got vaccinated with Bharat Biotech's Covaxin. Dr Paul told NDTV that he felt "proud about taking the jab and people should not believe in any rumours about the vaccine". On reports about the resident doctors of the national capital's RML hospital refusing Covaxin, Dr Paul said that it was very unfortunate and he "requests them with folded hands to please come ahead and get vaccinated with whichever vaccine is being given". "I feel proud about taking the jab...I request them (RML resident doctors) with folded hands to please come ahead and get vaccinated with whichever vaccine is being given," Dr Paul said.
