The second term of Donald Trump as US President is set to bring significant changes to the US immigration policy, impacting many undocumented Indians. Reportedly, around 18,000 Indians in the US are facing uncertainty. In the first India-US bilateral talks held after Trump's inauguration, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar emphasised India's stance against illegal immigration stating that the country supports the repatriation of its citizens that remain undocumented in the US.
