Export ban brings cement prices down marginally
Finance minister P Chidambaram will now be able to breathe easy as the move to ban cement exports is finally paying off.The decline in cement prices is seen in Gujarat, which was earlier the cement export hub and it is the curb on exports that is doing the trick.Analysts tracking the industry say the cement prices in Gujarat fell by Rs 5-10 per bag over the weekend as the export curb spruced up cement supplies in the western state.
