Families of Tanya Soni and Shreya Yadav, who tragically died in the Old Rajendra Nagar flood incident, were devastated by the news of their children's deaths. Shreya Yadav's uncle claimed that he was not allowed to see his niece's face for identification when he asked. He demanded a case of culpable homicide be lodged against the coaching institute's owner.
Shreya Yadav's uncle said, "I received no official information from the coaching institute or administration. I saw the news and approached the mortuary, asking to see her face for identification, but they denied it, saying it was a police case. They showed me a paper with her name... When news of student casualties emerged, I called the coaching institute, and they said they couldn't disclose names but confirmed two casualties... Only those who have given birth know the value of life, and it shouldn't be lost due to mismanagement. I demand a culpable homicide case against the coaching institute's owner..."
Notably, in a tragic incident on July 27 in Delhi's Old Rajendra Nagar, three UPSC aspirants, including Shreya Yadav and Tanya Soni, died after the basement of a popular IAS coaching institute flooded. Irate students protested against the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the coaching institute's management for the negligence that cost three lives.
